Preparation and use of pulp from the Eastern black walnut tree to stain the epithelial and connective tissue of various tissue samples.

In my Investigation and Research course myself and my partner gathered black walnuts from trees located on our campus. We used the pulp of the walnuts to make a stain. We tested the stain on several different tissue types to determine what type of tissue the walnut stain, stained. Below is a link to the poster presented summarizing the project.

HIV I & II

In another research course I worked with HIV samples from Benin. In this project, we were using PCR and gel electrophoresis to determine if samples contained either HIV I, HIV II or were infected with both. The power point to the right details background information and well as results obtained from our study.

Schizophrenia

For my Introduction to Neurology course, the topic I chose for my presentation was Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a severe neurological disorder that impairs a person's day to day function. The disorder can also cause individuals to have unpleasant hallucinations. The power point to the left details the disorder and the neurological symptoms associated with the disease.

Rabies

For Virology I composed a presentation on rabies. Rabies is caused by a zoonotic disease, meaning its spread directly to humans from infected animals. The disease is caused by a virus and the presentation to the left details the structure and pathogenesis of the virus.
